Middlesbrough goalkeeper Brad Jones has finally completed a £2.3m move to Liverpool.

The 28-year-old Australian international signed today after travelling up to Merseyside for a medical.

An added bonus for new Anfield boss Roy Hodgson is that Jones will qualify as a 'homegrown' player after originally joining Boro from Australian amateurs Bayswater City.

Middlesbrough goalkeeper Brad Jones has been in Liverpool to undergo a medical with the Premier League club and is expected to move to Anfield imminently.

Jones, 28, is being recruited as a deputy for established number one Jose Reina, who despite his last-minute error against Arsenal on Sunday is regarded by many as the Premier League's best goalkeeper.

Jones was spotted in Liverpool on Monday and the Australian goalkeeper is expected to join the club for a fee in the region of £2.3 million.
